#Background 'tiff sizing

Just as I was about to get something straightened out, something else bends. I would like to apply a bitmap .tiff file as a background during rendering. But I'm not keen on the way the .tiff file tiles; in other words I want one big happy file back there and to cover the entire screen. The Reference book is scant on the sizing aspect under the Render/Background section. I tried to increase the size of the image in Photoshop, but was not successful. Anybody else have a problem with tiling of background images? Eric

Eric, when you're rendering you can select resize or tile for your background. It doesn't matter what size the image is originally, 3DS will automatically make it full screen if you select resize. Check under render/options probably… Bob W.

eric, bacgrounds can be either tiled (as you see it now) or resized to the image resolution. Check out pg. 7-181 to 7-185 in the R4 reference manual, and look at the background option. -b

B, Thanks for the reference. I'll study it tomorrow. E
