#PAR AVI

Has anyone been having problems with the PAR AVI codec? It won't work on my
machine. When Premiere tries to access a frame from the PAR the machine stalls,
if I hit CTRL+ALT+DEL I get a DPSCODE2.TSK has stopped responding to the
system. I hit RETURN and get back to premiere with a green (image-less) frame.
Ian.
Yes. I'm having the same problem. I don't know the fix as yet.
BTW, do you have the DPS BBS # handy? I don't have my manuals
at the office.
Thanks

Thanks Ian!
Ian – have you tried the new MCI drivers. I am trying to :
1) Run them with Premiere 4.0 (yes – I read the documentation that came with
the MCI drivers)
2) Get the ANV2AVI conversion to create a file that will work with Premiere.
Help!
RE: PAR drivers
I can't get the drivers to AVI drivers (MCI is a different thing) to work with
Premiere.
MCI is used to play PAR movies through Media Player, PAR VCR, etc.
Ian.
Ian,
What is exactly your problem ? I have also Adobe Premiere 4.0 (not 4.0a – who
will be released within a few weeks – seeo adobe forum – GO ADOBE)
Everything works fine. Please can you give me some furtther details ?

PAR2AVI creates the AVI file fine but when I try to import it into Premiere the
computer freezes. I can regain control only by hitting CTRL+ALT+DEL, then I
get a message saying that DPSCODE2.TSK has stopped responding to the system.
If I then hit RETURN I go back into Premiere but the frame that Premiere should
have gotten from the PAR is just blank green. I've heard from some others who
have experienced the same problem. May be a conflict?
Ian.
Ian,
I've seen on the adobe forum here on CIS (GO ADOBE) that one of the problems is
that older versions of the DPS PAR board didn't have a decimator (i hope i
spell it correct) installed. You can contact the DPS folks to get the chip. I
think this will resolve your problem
