#Compare after write CD
5 messages in this thread
After you have written files to a CD, how do you compare the files and/or
directory structure on that CD to the original file and/or directory structure?
I had been using just the DOS file compare, but that does not span
subdirectories. I'm looking for something else. Is there software that CD
vendors make specifically for this purpose?
Thanks in advance.
Pollyanne
Pollyanne,
You could set your old subdirectory as a drive letter then compare the entire
drive or you could get Disc Detective which will read every sector on the disc
and will compare to image files.

Pollyanne,
you did not write, which software package you are using. If you are using
WinOnCD ToGo! you can select the Verify option which will compare all files on
your CD file by file using MSCDEX which I think is exactly what you are looking
for.

You can download XCOMP.ZIP from the forum library. This is a program I wrote
that is similar to DOS COMP, except that it spans subdirectories and produces a
summary comparison report.
Thanks. I'll give it a try.
