My question is for someone who knows about the Mitsumi CD-Rom's and their associated "Disk Detective" software. The software adds a "C;\DOS\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MTMIDE01 /M:10" command to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. I have added the "/E" to the end of this as recommended by the manual because I use EMM386 as a memory manager. My question is: what is the "M:10" part for. I have seen 10,15,30& 50 used by friends of mine who also have Mitsumi's and none of us know what it is for. My CD-ROM locks up almost every time I use it, and the computer company I purchased it from has changed the motherboard, IDE controller card, all cables, power supply, memory and the CD-ROM itself trying to correct the problem with no success. They are convinced now that it is software causing it, but cannot find it. I run a simple DOS-Windows system, with STB VISION as my only TRS resident program in Windows, and a simple Autoexec.bat & Config.sys Setup. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. I've lost hope in getting my CD-ROM to work. Steve
