#Selection sets A,B,C

Does anyone know of a way to increase my selection sets beyond A,B,C.. While modeling I find that often I have a need for many more especially when selecting faces. Surely there must be a IPAS or keyscript that addresses this problem. I am anxiously awaiting your replies. Thanks. James

James: Currently A,B,C are your selection limits but there are ways to get some more functionality out of the system. Assigning object colors can dramatically cut down the time for selection and a planned object naming strategy will also work wonders. At the face level, however, you will be limited. Would it benefit you to separate the commonly selected faces into their own objects? Bob

Surely there must be a IPAS or keyscript that addresses this problem. << If you need selection sets at the face level and you haven't yet assigned materials to anything, you can use bogus material names to create a "selection set" that can be recalled with surface/material/show. You can assign selections of faces a unique smoothing group number and recall them at any time. While this works well for storing the selection set, it's important to remove the smoothing group before final rendering (unless they happen to be smoothed as well of course). – Phil
