Geoff, I am sorry, but source code for the AAPLAY.DLL is not avaialable. What are you tring to accomplish. Would the ASL help you? Animation Support Libraries: This developers kit includes C and Visual Basic Programmers reference manuals for the Windows Player, Fliclib and File Format manuals, Code examples and other support files, POCO and POE reference manuals, and more. You can order this kit directly from Autodesk by calling 800-964-6432. The kit costs about $25. "Animation Support Libraries R2.0 SAP# 03302-013303-9000". -b

Thanks Brian, We have just purchased 3D Studio v4. The FL? animation files can be freely distrubuted can't they ? If not what agreement is required. Thanks Geoff

Keith, Any FL? animation that you create can be distributed however you want. You are the owner of your own creations. If you are referring to the example files that ship with the product, In accordance with your licence agreement you can use the data in the MAPS, GEOMETRY, and FONTS directories in your own work, unencumbered. However, the images in the SAMPLES directory are provided only as examples and can not be used for any purposes other than to demonstrate the programs output. -brian

PHEW, Just paniced for a second then. Basically we want to write our own C++ program to display FL? files using any libraries available. The AAPLAY.DLL seems to be the one people are using. What we want to avoid is having a runtime lib, we would prefer to create our own EXE file which holds the animation and the FL? player. We are looking into this ASL you mentioned but have had slow response from our supplier. Could you give me any more info about the ASL while we are waiting for it. Thanks For the previous prompt reply's. Geoff Coope

<< What we want to avoid is having a runtime lib, we would prefer to create our own EXE file which holds the animation and the FL? >> Check out BLDSV.ZIP in the libraries. Although I think this is geared for DOS, not Windows. <<Could you give me any more info about the ASL while we are waiting for it. >> Animation Support Libraries: This developers kit includes C and Visual Basic Programmers reference manuals for the Windows Player, Fliclib and File Format manuals, Code examples and other support files, POCO and POE reference manuals, and more.
