#NT doesn't like me.

I guess I'm not so fortunate in installing NT. I put it on one system,
everything seemed ok, but somehow after a few days, I no longer can access one
of my partitions in DOS. I never was able to access it in NT. So I have about
1Gig of data that is in limbo. It is on a Micropolis 2217A drive.
Fdisk says there is are two partitions there, but when I boot up it starts to
load DMDRVR.BIN, then says there is nothing there that needs it, so it doesn't
load.
I will contact Micropolis tommorrow unless someone has a suggestion today.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dennis
What kind of controller do you have? 🙂

John;
It is just a plain IDE controller, but VLB card. It was working for a few
days. I even transferred files from one partition to another to make some
space. Then I noticed yesterday I couldn't access it any more.
Dennis
Dennis,
Its really hard to say what could have happened. I'd look into how the bios was
setup to handle the IDE, which is actually an EIDE which has different
requirements. Your best bet is to call Micropolis or make a visit to the Winnt
forum…

I understand. I did notice someone talking about the WinNT forum, so I popped
over there for some possible help. So far, no responses, but it is the
weekend. Thanks for the help.

Sure Dennis, hope you get it worked out. I suspect you will have to activate
LBA and reformat your hard disk… they should be able to provide you with a
file on use of EIDE hard disk setup for NT.
