John, I'm hardly "using the review to voice disatisfaction". Just joined in an exchange about which I had an opinion. My problems with the software and the content of the review do not seem to be two different issues. Even at low resolution bounding box speed, brush activity and hand/eye response lags. Load times for TGA streams are very slow, handling of RAM is less than efficient, and actually, rather than continue to list the problems I'll remain closer to my original point – since so many people, with diverse systems and end apps have experienced similar problems, I would have expected to read a review with a wider spectrum of likes and dislikes. But at any rate, disdain is one of those loaded words that starts sounding like personal anger. C'mon… the review really bugged me. Jeffrey

>> disdain is one of those loaded words that starts sounding like personal anger. C'mon… the review really bugged me. << Well Jeffrey I have a vocabulary and I use it. There's no personal anger, just strong words… when you put it that way I have to acknowledge that that is how you feel… for my part I thought it was one of the better reviews I've seen… I'm well aware of the problems associated with Ani Studio, believe it or not, my discussions along with several other people who supported Ani Studio were carefully gathered up by Nik Grant and brought to endless meetings to make it possible… the result was far more ambitious that I would have ever dreamed… unfortuneately like many developers they got caught when Microsoft dropped the ball and for the millionth time delayed Win 95… If you compare any comparable package they're all 5 to 6 times as much… all I can say is give them a chance to make it right… it really is a scramble and all this negative clamour isn't helping in the least… its just putting more unneeded pressure on the situation, and these people are already maxed out… If my comments don't do it for you, then write the product manager and let him know exactly how you feel and why… Jumping on this review is about as pointless an exercise as there is, regardless of how you feel about it… John

John, now we do have two issues at hand. 1) We won't agree on the review, and that's that. 2) I will be thrilled when AA-Studio is fully functional. Already having had a rather extensive exchange with the Product Manager, in which I offered a hit list of items and discussed how other softwares support file streams, I have taken whatever appropriate steps possible in a positive direction. Getting no thrill from the flak AA-S is recieving, my thrill was 5 years of continuous unbelievable progress made by both 3-DS and Ani-Pro. However, when a software is released or upgraded the user-base's voice becomes part of the process. Candid and straight ahead is the way to go IMO. Jeffrey

There's always has been two issues, as far as our discussion on this subject goes… your perception of Ani Studio and the review. The review was the topic… It is straight and it is factual. The rating I'll grant you was questionable. I think the review was positive and insightful… you feel that it didn't tell the whole story… I don't think I've ever read a review that did. So then its a question of degree. Look through PCVG and say New Media. I don't think you'll find any of the reviews straighter… and most aren't written nearly as well either… John
