#Adesk SIGGRAPH Party

Kathy:
Last year was my first trip to SIGGRAPH and I would like to offer an idea for
the Autodesk sponsored party coming up this year.
Although I had spent the year communicating with many of the eventual
partygoers here on ASOFT/AMMEDIA I did not have a clue as to what anyone looked
like. At the party last year there were no "Hello, My Name Is" badges or other
name tags offered at the party's entrance. I would suggest either handing out
tags or just encouraging people to wear their SIGGRAPH badges. This will make
it easier for me and others to put a face to a name/CIS address. Thanks in
advance for what will undoubtedly be a great time.

Bill,
I can't be there, but could you send me a piece of cake?
Hey, wait a minute! Blow up my picture, sit it in a chair in the corner, and
folk can interact with it by putting post it notes or something, and send it
back to me at the end! A winner!

Better yet, how about badges with our pictures!

Ted,
Why would we need to a photo on our badges since we will be wearing them and
our real, analog faces will be in close proximity to the badge?

I think we should take it one step further and everyone strap on a video camera
aimed at their faces, then route the signal to a palmtop TV that we wear on our
chest with our name written below it. That would be much better, since stills
generally don't do a person justice <BG>.

Great idea, Tyler!
Sounds like an example of one of the noble attempts I regularly make to
"improve life through technology" by spending an hour and a half on the
computer to accomplish a simple, five-minute task my daughter (who has lost all
interest after the first 25 minutes) initially wanted to do with a few crayons
and a piece of paper.
See ya,
Alec Jason
Dear Tyler:
You know, that is a great idea!
I've never liked those sticky pieces of paper posted onto my suit jacket.

Hey, they could always be used as a lint brush!
Because Ted probably wants a different picture on his badge. This way he can
attend as an imposter. GR&D.

Ahhhh . . . I understand.
Knowing Ted, an imposter (any imposter) would be an improvement!
