I'm sure this question is asked often but I need to display a timer of clock on my rendered frames. Do I need a plug-in to do this or can it be done in 3DS itself. Thanks for the help. Ray-

There is a IPAS available somewhere here that will do that for you in V-post. I could not find it myself (again). But it is here…Maybe someone else can assist. However, I once used it and it'll do everything you want including color, position, and size. -Kouros.

Thanks for the help.<< Count.exe IXP process which display a counter in the format hh:mm:ss:ff. Useful for pointing out specific frames. This is a public domain IPAS from SPAIN (Approximate download time at 2400 bps using CIS B: 1:00) I think I found it. -Kouros.

Ray: >> Do I need a plug-in to do this or can it be done in 3DS itself. There is a free plug-in, however, it was written for 3DS2 and will totally mess up your images due to the new 64 bit color space. If you have Animator Pro, another solution is to use the Poco program written by the PocoMeister Martin Foster which does all this and more, and can be easily composited into your animation in Video Post. >> I need to display a timer of clock on my rendered frames… Here is a cool trick. It will take a little time to set up, but it works great. I made small TGA files (black and white) of the digits 0-9 and an image of a box with a colon at exactly the right location (0:00). Next, build ifl's to cycle through the digits. ONES.IFL will look like this: 0.TGA 30 1.TGA 30 2.TGA 30 … 9.TGA 30 TENS.IFL will be similar (don't forget… stop at 59 seconds): 0.TGA 300 1.TGA 300 2.TGA 300 … 5.TGA 300 MINUTE.IFL 0.TGA 1800 1.TGA 1800 2.TGA 1800 … 9.TGA 1800 Now, knowing the image size, use the custom size/offset options in VP to line them up (together with the colon). I've skipped a TON of detail, but this should give you the idea. It offers tremendous flexibility in placement of the "clock", the color of the digits (use the b/w as an alpha channel with a bitmap or color entry), even the precision of your counter (you could advance it every tenth of a second or every 10 seconds with different IFL's). – Dave

Dave- After some trial and error I think your method is going to work very well. It's a near perfect solution for my problem and has also given me some exposure to areas in 3DS I have not worked with. Thanks for the creative suggestion. Ray-
