Where's my Transactor?

My Visa card shows you got my money on 18 June; I wanted my subscription to
start with issue #1; when would you imagine I could start to look hopefully at
my mailbox?
You billed my Visa card in April for a subscrition to TRANSACTOR for the
AMIGA. I have yet to receive a single copy, although I have noticed copies of
the publication at several dealors. I appreciate the problems involved with a
publication of this sort, but I believe I have been more than patient. I would
appreciate you looking into this matter as soon as possible. My address is 331

Sorry you haven't got any magazines yet. The reason is the obvious one, I'm
afraid – there haven't been any (the mailing list for the last one was
generated some time late in April, presumably after your VISA account was
billed). The reasons for the long delay are numerous, but boiled down to lack
of money. That lack, and the causes of it, have now been dealt with, and the
next TransAmi will be released on or near Sept. 1, with subsequent issues
following faithfully at two month intervals thereafter.
We apologize to you and everyone else who's been inconvenienced by our delay in
publishing, but we're probably even gladder than you to see it ending.
Thanks for being patient. I'll put up a message here the same day issue #3 goes
in the mail.

At the Chicago AmiExpo I spoke with a Gentleman from Transactor, and he stated
he would send me a Label for my V1I1 disk for TransAmi.. I still have not
received it… Could you check on it.. Thank You

Ron,
If you want to go beyond simple boot-n-go, or are just curious as to what is
going on in there, the Transactor for the Amiga, the TransAmi, is for you.
It's not for the total neophyte but allows the new user a view into the more
esoteric areas of the Amiga. It's primarialy aimed at the person who programs
the thing, and contains tips and techniques that would take you forever to find
for yourself (if ever). It has tutorials, product reviews and some thought
provoking articles on a variety of Amiga related subjects.
If you plan on _never_ programming the Amiga, and show not the least
curiousity on how things get done, then it is _not_ for you. It's for the
'serious' enthusiast. It assumes some knowlege on your part but does not
demand you be expert on the Amiga.
It is written _by_ enthusisasts _for_ enthusiasts (unlike a lot of other
magazines) The reviews in it are not the normal "Golly! Gee! Wow!" inaccurate
gloss you see in most other magazines (though you will see raves you will also
see flames- slightly toned down for Public Consumption 8)
If you want the publications you subscribe to to treat as a fairly inteligent
reader- then look no further. This is not some tired rehash of 'How to Use the
CLI' dragged out for the Nth time. It is also not aimed at teaching you how to
roll your own Operating System. It ranges from those simple, little bits of
information that make you say, "Hey! That's _neat!_I didn't know that!" to
explaining what Icons consist of, and on to what the OS is doing, and how you
can fiddle with it.
This magazine is definitely classed in the Stuff, Neat, Amiga class of
things. If you like your Amiga, then the TransAmi is a _must_ have for you.

While I don't program the Amiga, I do program, and I do want to fully

Ron, yes, if you want to subscribe, the easiest way is to do so by E-mail to
"Transactor HQ", account 76703,4243. Just include your address, card info, and
preferably phone #, and make sure you say you want Transactor for the Amiga
(aka Transami) rather than Transactor (which is our Commodore 8-bit magazine).

Transactor for the Amiga
Ron, TRANSACTOR is the best source of real information about your Amiga. While
the emphasis is on programming, it is also a real technical journal (which used
to be in its subtitle). TRANSACTOR is the closest thing the Amiga has to a
"Dr. Dobbs' Journal", with much the same sort of flavor that Dr. Dobbs had in
its earlier (read pre-I*M) days.
Good to hear everything's ok, Nick… Some of us were getting worried about
y'all. Hate to see the best magazine for the machine bite it! Looking forward
