Dale, I stuck the old FTP into the newer TCP/IP today (it works!) and got both machines SanaII compatible today. At 4:45PM I decided to install Envoy. At 5:05PM I had Envoy up and running on both machines. The LJ4M exported with no problem and the few directories I exported checked out too. It was DEFINITELY a piece of cake compared to installing and configuring TCP/IP. Perceived speed seemed decent. And it was soooooo Smoooooooth setting it up. The installer and the manual made it easy. Now if I could just get rid of those startup bitches like "wrong number of arguments" or something like "2nd ethernet controller not configured" and "User set to Nobody" when I start TCP/IP. Gosh I'm dumb! Goin' AP …..Mark Sterling

I'm glad that everything with Amiga Envoy went smoothly for you and that you are happy with the product! To help debug your AS225 setup (and any other script-based stuff), you might try putting a "set echo on" at the begining of the inet:s/start-inet. That way you can at least see what lines are causing the problems. "2nd ethernet controller not configured" may mean that you have a second A2065 in that machine. Comment out those lines in inet:s/start-inet or decide how you want the script to configure the second board. "User set to Nobody" probably means that you haven't edited user= in inet:s/inet.config. P.S. Since you are using a 4M, this might affect you: I recently noticed somethign about PostScript printing on the Amiga. Most applications that can generate PS will only do so to ser, par, or file. Output has to go to prt in order to be redirected over the network. With the PS printer driver (with passthrough) in 2.1 and up, they should be allowing PS to prefs printer as an option. — Dale L. Dale, I try setting echo on to nail down what lines are being complained about. I do not have a second ethernet ethernet card in either machine and both complain about the same thing? Maybe I will just comment out those lines. I think my inet.config says "user=mark". Should there be a space there? The old AS225 never complained about any of this stuff!? Pagestream prints to PRT: with its own driver and works OK …. except it doesn't seem to do a form feed when job is sent from the client. I didn't have time to try this much today so I'm not 100% sure about this one. The page doesn't print until another print job is sent from client or server. Just sending to Prefs printer and Laserjet works fine; in fact Deskjet (an oops) worked OK. The Client has a Deskjet. I'll work on this more this weekend. I haven't hit an app that demands par: yet. I also have ProPage and Finalcopy but haven't tried them yet. One time the printer was off and a job was sent from client. A requestor came up on the server saying printer trouble. I turned the printer on and it printed OK! Yeah, we push the limits (of stupidity) at our place. Goin' AP …..Mark Sterling
