Just ran across a great idea over on the Atari-16 forum. We all have to stop
talking about software "Piracy". It generates a Robin Hood image. We should
refer to "Software Theft" and "Software Thieves". What do you think?

The Software Publisher's Association has already suggested a new term instead
of pirate, but I don't remember what it was. They also sugggest
"theft-protection" instead of "copy-protection". —Mike

I also read that the SPA was beginning to rethink their position on no
copy protection. After the last several years of removing copy protection,
there is some thought of putting it back in due to rampant theft in some parts
of the world.
I'm not positive that it was the SPA who was rethinking their position,
but some group similar to them was.

Piracy IS increasing. It hurts the Amiga market more than the IBM (for
example) because the actual market is smaller. —Mike

That is probably quite true.

It's the right word, I say let's go for it. BTW, see my earlier reply on this
subject.
I agree completely. I never ever say "pirate" either in conversation or in a
message, unless it's to use that word in a discussion such as this.
