#Fade to black problems

Mike, The problem happens when I use SuperGen to fade the video image to or from black. It happens in both the manual fades and when Broadcast Titler effects control the fade. When I'm in black (either before or after the video image fades) I can see part of the video on the right. And you're right, it does illuminate the screen. I can see it on my waveform moniter. SuperGen claims that they can't do anything about it, and they advised me to wait until the new graphics board comes out (about a year!)

Yikes! Wait for a new board? No doubt for more money. I've never heard that anyone has this problem. I loaned out my SuperGen, but when it returns next weekend, I will check it out. If this is true, it makes the SG much less desirable (to put it mildly). —Mike

Talked to someone at Creative Computing today, and he also said that he's never heard of this problem. He thinks maybe it's a fault in my particular computer. But that still doesn't explain what the guy from SuperGen said. Oh well. . . It's frustrating. I'm new to the Amiga. I waited so long to get it, and I wanted it to be perfect. Tina

I know how you feel. Try the SuperGen on a different Amiga if you can. If it still has the problem, can you take it back to the dealer you bought it from?

Mike, I think I can take it back to the dealer. If not, I can probably return it to the company. I may have to wait awhile before I can try it out on another Amiga. My dealer just sold out all his Amigas. Even sold his floor model. So he's waiting to get some more in. The only person I know with an Amiga is in Chicago, and I'm in L.A. Oh well, I guess after all this, I can afford to wait a little. By the way, thanks for all the help. I'm so new to this, and I feel kinda lost a lot of the time. It's nice to know that I can get help when I need it.

From what Mike was saying it sounds like a problem with the SuperGen board, and not the Amiga. If your local dealer knows anything about video, you might want to check there too.

Steve, I did check with a dealer today (see response to Mike's message). Tina
