Dear Anyone,
Help. I need to know personal opinions/thoughts about these products
because I've only had my Amiga for a couple of months and it's ttime to get a
good color wordprocessor and a good color printer.
Pen-Pal from Brown-Wagh (I don't want to fool with wordperfect)
Epson LQ 850 ? printer
. (will this work with the Amiga)
thank u (Chris Smith 73457,1203
Chris,
PenPal is a most impressive word processor if you want to do color graphics and
text on the same page, and if you do not need the power of WordPerfect. PenPal
does not do indexes, footnotes, or columns. It does use the built-in printer
fonts to give you excellent print quality, and does it right along with
graphics – can even flow the text around the graphic. Not only that, but it
includes a database that is adequate for many uses, though I doubt you'd want
to run a business with it. Excellent for mailing addresses, though, and the
mail merge is built in. I think you'd like it.
The Epson Q computers will all work well with the AMiga. THere is a driver for
them on the Workbench EXTRAS disk.

Chris, you might try to join us tomorrow night in AmigaArts for our conference
on Pen Pal.

Chris,
I'd suggest that you attend the CO on Pen Pal on Wednesday (8/23/89) at 10:00pm
EDT in AmigaArts. You should get a good flavor for the program there, and
you'll be able to question the author. Pen Pal is an interesting program and it
will do a great job of integrating color pictures on an HP Paintjet.

Chris,
I can't help you with the printer (don't have that one), but I think Pen Pal
is a very nice WP for _home_ use. I would not recommend it for professional
writers, someone working on a thesis, etc., but for general letter writing it
is great. It allows you to mix (color if you have it) graphics and internal
printer fonts on the same page. When I write magazine articles I use CEDPro
(text editor from ASDG), but when I write letters it's Pen Pal.
