I am currently using BackTalk 1.55a and would like to use it at 14400 baud on
the local nets. I would appreciate any information on locating the 14400
configuration for it. Any help will be appreciated.

The 14.4 is the modem-modem connection. Your computer-modem speed can,
and normally should be, higher. For example, now I'm connected to the modem at
38.4, yet the modem is connected to CIS at 14.4.
Check with your modem documentation on how to set it up for CTS-RTS
flow control.
Setup BT for 19.2 or 38.4 and things should work fine.
