Hi, I just started using an amiga (3000) after 3 years of having a mac. For cmpu$sevve on the mac I used both CIM and NAvigator. are there equivalent programs for the amiga? If so, Where can I find them? Thanks in advance for the help Paul

I've heard AutoPilot makes it rather painless (and a bit cheaper) to use CServe… although not having 2.0, I can't actually verify that… Judging from the number of "AutoPilot" taglines however, I'd say it works rather well.

There is a demo version of Autopilot in the Autopilot section of AmigaVendor (library 9). You need the files APdocs.lha and AP.lha. These files are compressed with LHA, you need the file lha38.run which is here in AmigaUser. When you have all these files, do the following: LHA is a self-extracting file, just open a shell, "cd" to the directory where you have it, and type "lha38.run". When lha extracts, copy the lha file to the "c:" directory, and then type "lha x apdocs.lha" and then lha x ap.lha. After reading the docs and getting it set up, you can find lots of other useful stuff over in the Autopilot section of AmigaVendor, including compliled catalogs of the Amiga forum files. Give a shout if you need any help. // -Karl \X/ Amiga and Autopilot: The *only* way to fly!

There is a program similar in function to the new Win CIS NAV (or whatever their calling it today). AutoPilot is a commercial program that automates your CIS sessions, catologing, up/downloading, messaging, mail, etc. Saves you a ton of $$ compared to WinCIM. It even has message HISTORY files that track stuff you've already read… limited only by your disk space. You'll find a demo version (good for Email and the Amiga Forums) in library 9 of AmigaVendor Forum (GO AMIGAV). You'll need to download the porgram archive (AP.LHA) and the documentation archive (APDOCS.LHA). Both of these archives require LHA ti unpack, which can be downloaded from here in library 16 of AmigaUser (LHA138.RUN).
