#Skyline BBS-HELP!
6 messages in this thread
Hello. I have a question of anyone out there who runs a Skyline
BBS. I just got v1.32 in the mail today, and I cannot get it to run. I
have followed all of the installation instructions in the manual and on the
addendum. It all works fine up to the point that I'm supposed to be
copying the MSG and TXT file over to their respective places on the hard
drive. THOSE TWO DIRECTORIES ARE NOT ON MY DISK. Nor is the
InstallSkyline script.
Some Background data. My system is:
Amiga 3000
100 meg drive
4 meg fast, 2 chip
USR 14400 Courier HST.
Am I missing files? If so, where can I get them? And why am I
missing them?
Confuddled in OC.

I'm sorry I can't help with your problem but would you help me? Do you
have a phone number for the guy/company that markets Skyline BBS? Thanks
in advance!
-John

I'm a little confused Your version of Skyline is 1.32? As far as I know the
last update was 1.31 at least that is what I have. As far as copy the Msg:
and TXT: thoughs should be directorys that have One the Messages area in
the MSG: directory and THe Text Directory has all the Menu's and Logon text
that the BBS Uses. give me a little more info as to what you got in the
Mail? I bought Skyline Version 1.2 and in the Doc's there was a explination
of setting up the MSG: and TXT: Directories. did you buy the Complete
Package and Not get a Printed Book of Instruction or did you just get the
Update? I really need more info.

Ok…. Some background info. The disk I got, came complete with the manual
for 1.2, a 1.3 addendum sheet. The version number 1.32 is on the front of
the disk, and in the ReadMe! file contained on the disk. It appears that I
may have just gotten the upgrade instead of the complete package, as the
disk contains only the files found under BBS:. There are no text files or
menus on the disk. There is no Skyterm 1.2 as mentioned. The manual came
wrapped in cellophane and has a "Version 1.3" sticker over the original
"Version 1.2 by Michael Cox." It was purchased thru Go Amiga, and was
billed as the complete system.
Is anyone out there running Skyline on a A3000? If so, or if you are aware
of someone, please give me a board number. I have some questions.
Thanks, I hope this information helps pin the problem down more!
