Help! My A3000's software clock is running at +290.33% real time. The hardware clock is fine. I have tested two local dealers A3000 and thay are fine. I have taken my problem to my dealer, Commodore csc and just about anyone who will listen with no positive results. If I do a setclock load then to a date the time is correct but if I do subsequent time checks with date the time is off by a factor of 290.33% on the plus side. All Commodore csc could suggest is that I get a new copy of the software clock program, I had already tried that! Anyone have any ideas? I think it may be a hardware jumper on the mother board that selects where the software clock gets it timming, but just a guess on my part.

Dan, Have your dealer check the 8520 CIA chips out…I think they'll find that one is not working properly. Don

Don: Thanks for the tip on checking out the 8520 CIA chip. You are the only one who has taken an interest in the problem. I am on the phone right now with my dealer and he is checking to see if he has any 8520' in stock. I will get him to atleast check my chips out. I hope he has that ability 😀
