I'm looking for other users of the Terak 8510 computer, an old 1980s era LSI-11 based system that ran UCSD Pascal, RT-11 and other software. I just bought an old one, but without a monitor, so in particular I'm looking for the pin-out of the monitor cable so I can craft a new one. I don't drop into this forum often, so if you could enter /mail instead of /post after you've composed a reply, I'll get it in Easyplex instead. Thanks!

Yeah, I got one too. I'm in the process of making up a cable. I've got the boxes but no wires. Looks like the fitting supports a speaker and power switch. Let you know when I get things figured out. How are you fixed for software? Good luck ! Art Read action !re Enter reply. (/EXIT when done) Sorry for the long delay. I've got a several large boxes full of legit software, all with original docs, etlicenses, etc. The univoerersity once used these Teraks for instructional purposes, centered around UCSD Pascal. What do you have? I've spent a little time tinkering in assembler modifying a terminal program so that it will send entire disk images to another PC, in my case, an Amiga. I've moved several entire block-for-block disk images to the A imiga already. Then I wrote some C utilities that convert these disk images into their component files on the Amiga. In this way, I can archive disk contents very easily on the Amiga, and in the future, as I improve these utilities, the conversion will be better. No,w, I do properly convert tetxt files to Amiga (Unix-like) format. /post Message # 57242 posted

John, been meaning to get back to you. Try the male pin on the CRT connector. On my machine it is traced to a BNC connector and outputs composite video. I've got zilch for software- just a running set of boxes. They're going for cheap in the LA area, Douglas seems to have dumped a bunch of them.M Any chance you can sell me an operating system? BTW, There are lots of expansion disk drives around.

How cheap is cheap? It might be nice to get a box to get the extra memory… where did you see a listing for more Teraks? Unfortunately, I've only got one copy of everything, so I don't think I can sell you an operating system. I eventually found a monitor…
