#EDTINI Key Defs again?
4 messages in this thread
Bill -You'd given me one (char, sel, word, chgcs) which, sadly, I misplaced. (At
the time, we were on RSTS 8.0-06 and it didn't work anyway.)
Well, we're now up on 9.7-08 and, lo & behold, we got EDT 3.1 and VT220
support and other nifty stuff (hallelujah).
So — if you would be so kind — could you repost that key def? (We don't
have docs yet that are worth much.)
Also — there's a message from my sysop (actually under my PPN) that might
pose a challenge. Thanks much!!
Paul,
Your message is a little garbled.
I remember putting some kind of EDT key def'n together for you at one
point but I don't remember what it was. Unfortunately I'm farther away
from using EDT now (I use it maybe once or twice a month, since I use EVE
on the VAX now primarily) and it would take me a while to reconstruct it
(assuming I knew what "it" was… you're gonna have to refresh me, I can't
tell from your message). It will be at least a couple of weeks before I
can get to it… this is the "busy season" for me. Sorry…
I don't think RSTS 10 is a "big surprise" because it's been rumored and
pre-announced and the like for, oh, a year now maybe?! But, I could well
be wrong. If that's DEC's definition of a big surprise, then I guess that
says something in itself, eh? 🙂

There are v10 seminars listed in the DECUS Symposia guide for NO.

Bill,
O I C — I uploaded a message asking how to construct an EDTINI key def,
but now that I see it, the UL didn't work too good (argh).
'Sokay — just that I seem to recall your saying that "any key def typed on
the command line (line edit mode) will work" in EDTINI. (I haven't had a
chance to try it out.) No hurry — our sysop is ordering some *real*
manuals at last, so that oughta do it.
