Anyone out there have a chip level knowledge of the Professional 350 mother
board? I need some 8-pin mini dip identified for a possible repair, the
chip 9636ATC F 8228. Has anyone any schematics to identify it, if so I may
be able to salvage this motherboard and were I may get parts? Don"t say new
motherboard unless someone has one for scrap parts.
Thank"
John,
The chip is a Fairchild dual RS232/RS423 line driver. DEC uses them
in a lot of places including the Pros. Several companies such as Texas
Instruments second source them so they are available. In singles they run
around $2. Try Newark for the TI version, uA9636ACP. Their number depends
on where you are as they don't have an 800 number.
