HiaCalc and Maxiplan are really ancient and unsupported. Analyize is a good
piecce of productivity software.
You like analyze? amazing!

<chuckle> I suppose there are fancier titles these days, but Analyze is
stable and powerful (and fast). It's certainly a wiser choice than some
older, unsupported titles.
Too bad its not 123 compatible. I don't care how 'powerful' it is if it
can't run 123 spreadsheets, and it can't. (yes, it can read the data, but
so what)

Analyze can run some of the 123 spreadsheets. At least it has read all
the ones that I have tried. They were big sheets. Not very complicated,
and they did not have use the macros, but they worked just fine without
modification on my end of it.
That's the point; it can read data, but the thing that makes 123 special is
the macro structure.

That's not the point! The point is that Analyze works _very_ well for
him as a Spreadsheet. Just as MaxiPlan works very well for me! That they
don't run 123 macros is _not_ the point! I, we, do not need them and are
happy with what we have!

But the Amiga market needs 123 macro's and doesn't have it; MSS
deliberately left out all 123 macro capability. I have analyze somewhere
and don't ever use it. I also have 123 2.2 on my bb.

Why in the world does the Amiga market "NEED" 123 macros? I'm part of the
Amiga market, and I don't even particularly want 123 macros. There are
lots of other folks in the Amiga market who don't need those macros either.
It sounds like *YOU* need 123 macros and are trying to generalize it to
the entire Amiga marketplace, but then your past messages have indicated
that you want the Amiga to be another clone anyhow.

The current version of Maxiplan – v3.5.? is supported and NOT ancient at
all. Intuitive Technologies has taken the program back and are supporting
it fully. True, they had some problems the last couple of months with lack
of support and lack up answering the phone, but that has changed. They
have hired more staff and are fixing the bugs that were reported with the
new release of 3.0 (you see they are up to v3.5.5 – last I heard).
The first versions of the program was distributed by OXXI and they
still have the rights to v.1.9 of the program. That is no longer being
support by OXXI here in the States (my understanding is they are still
providing support to oversees users). Then version 2.0 was actually
renamed Plan-IT and distributed by B.E.S.T, but they are no longer doing
that program. Intuitive Tech. has taken the program back from both of the
above outfits and they are really shaping it up to be a VERY GOOD, full
feature Spreadsheet.
Maxiplan 3.5.5 is stable and very complete and can import LOTUS files
directly without the need for a conversion prg. You really should give
the NEW Maxiplan a try.
Analyze ? – Really! I suppose it is ok, doesn't do much and you can not
have more than one sheet open at a time and uses no colors (on scre
doesn't crash and gets the job done – I guess. It is productive to the
point that I guess a spreadsheet on a c64 is productive. But reall
ny longer. MSS has it in with The Works Platinum! (and they don't call it
"Analyze!" withing that package, its just 'Spreadsheet').
But then again, this is all IMHO!
