NFS compatibility?

Reading the CBM press release I got the idea that Syndesis will release
networking software compatible with Sun NFS. Yes? No? If so, when and under
what name? Thanks, Rob.
No, only CBM is selling an NFS at this point. This is the Ameristar
product, essentially, with an upgrade and a few improvements. Commodore's
price is so cheap, I doubt anyone else will bother to compete with them…
We've off to Dallas this week for another round of validation and testing
with our DECnet, and to drop by SIGGRAPH. I just picked up a DEC Pro 350
for $50, and I'll be doing a little more testing with it, too.
A DEC Pro 350?! I think that that's a PDP on the inside (PDP-8, PDP-11…
not sure).

Yes, it's based on the J-11 "VAX on a chip" chipset. It works great!
Turns out all the (formerly commercial and very expensive) software for it
is now available for free through DECUS. It basically runs RSX-11M inside,
plus it runs DECnet. What more could a boy want? 🙂 One of my better
buys.

Yes, well, let me know if you see any other such bargains lying around,
Hmm?
