Tom, This may not directly answer your question but my setup goes through two different A/B boxes (a Bal 100 and a Hymco tech box..Both manual switch) to get to two printers (Xerox C-150 and a HP deskjet) as well as digiview and a future sounds unit. I have had no problems at all with this setup. The lesson I learned was that ALL pins and cables must be wired. Sometimes some manufacturers do not wire all lines to save costs as not all are needed on a regular PC setup. You may want to check this on your setup and see if this could be the problem. Jim

Jim– I've been using 2 manual switch boxes for a couple of years with no problems. It's only with the new auto-switch that the problem occurs. My setup has 4 computers (including the A1000), and 2 printers: the IIP and a P2200. I used a 4 way to select a computer, and a 2 way to select a printer. But, often enough to be annoying, I'd forget to flip a switch and have data going to the wrong place. The autoswitch gets around the forgetting part but alas, not for the Amiga. If I can't figure out what is wrong, I may send the switch back and try some other model. In spite of the fact that it has always worked with the manual switch, I buzzed out the cables and traced signals in the hopes that some oddball line was wired wrong. But couldn't find anything wrong. Tom
