RAD, So I've read some of the dis about the Toaster not fitting in the 3000. Is the problem just mechanical – a size problem, rear opening, etc. or is there some other hitch. If it is just a matter of enough space for BNC connectors out the rear as has meen reported, I for one have no qualms about haking the case to fit as needed. But if it's a compatibility issueI do hope you guys will have this solved quickly as a lot of peop le are not interested in buying older Amiga models just to run the Toaster. So what's the story? -Chris

The talk on Bix is that the durn card doesn't physically fit in the case (they assumed more headroom then is available on the 3000, er side-room actually in the 3000 case). Reliable sources also say there are some timing glitches on the 3000 too, but the physical size of the card is enough to make it a no-go. -Mike

I've heard it's only the case metal interfering with the BNC connectors. An early A2000 spec said "put your connectors in this region", the A3000 enforced it. Now, I've heard Commodore is considering changing the A3000 case to go back to the A2000 level of freedom. I haven't heard of any electrical problem.

Thanks for the info. I do hope it is just a physical thing that might be remedied with a skill saw and hammer 😉 Anyways, I guess I'll bug the NewTeks over in their forum about the timing questions anether they have go one running in a 3000 with the case off. -Chris

What is the toaster? (excuse my ignorance). May the Lord bless you, Bradlee Sargent

The Toaster is a video effects device from NewTek, you can check around their section in the Vendor Forum for more info. Most of the messages ask when it will be shipping… 🙂
