#A1000 keyboard

I am looking for an Amiga 1000 keyboard to replace my existing one that
does not work so well. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

My Amiga dealer does not carry Amiga 1000 keyboards.

No, probably not in stock, but he can order one.
Or I believe they can still order them. Have their service tech
check for you.

The new CDTV from Commodore offers a keyboard as an option which is the
same as the A1000 keyboard in a different color. So if your dealer is
insistant, he'll be able to get an A1000 keyboard.

Get yourself an A2000 keyboard for that A1000 of yours! With the
addition of a simple conversion plug you can use the A2000 keyboard.
(IMHO-> a better kboard). Besides, it may be easier to get these days than
the A1000 ones.
Also – There was a thread around here last month that mentioned a IBM
third party Kboard manufature had a model that worked with the Amiga. I
don't remember the specifics of Name?Model?Price?Quality? but I'm sure
someone will pop in here with that info. This Kboard would need the same
adapter plug for you 1000.

Hope someone can give me more information on the IBM third party that you
mentioned..The Amiga 2000 keyboard sound like a possible way to go…

Northgate makes an Amiga-2000 compatible keyboard. I think they advertize
their PC line in every issue of InfoWorld, and they probably have a listing
with 800 Directory Assistance. Ask the Northgate operator for a keyboard
salesperson, and make sure the one you get knows about the Amiga or knows
someone s/he can ask.
