Will I be able to run ADOS 2.0 on my A1000?

I'm looking at that here as well. The only solution that I've found is
to get the Rejuvenator by Greg Tibbs. It will also allow you to upgrade to
1 MB of Chip RAM. There might be another solution out there, but I haven't
heard of it.

The Rejuvenator is a replacement daughterboard for the A1000. It requires
complete disassembly of the A1000. It gives the ECS Agnus (1 or 2 Meg of
chip ram is possible), supports the ECS Denise (an option), and converts
your old motherboard RAM to true fast RAM. IT even still supports teh old
kickstart disks. The final feature is it has a subset of the A2000 video
slot that allows boards like the flicker fixer and CBM display enhancer to
work. IT is compatiblw with most A1000 peripherals.

While you should not construe this message to mean that I think the
Rejuvinator is not worth the money/effort to install (I think it's
terriffic that Greg produced the product), I do not believe that any of the
'enhanced chip set' is _REQUIRED_ for running AmigaDOS 2.0. The addition
of the 1 Meg CHIP ram (provided by the Rejuvinator) is well worth the
effort all by itself.

I agree! I'll end up stuffing one into my original A1000 (which at the
moment languishes in my bedroom, replaced by a souped up A500).
When I moved to the 500, it was due to the lack of memory expandability of
my 1000. I had 1.75 meg in it (kickstart in rom) and a 44 meg Phoenix HD.
But I kept running out of chipmem.
So I added a Trumpcard 500 to the A500, expanded everything to 5 meg and
still ran out of chipmem. Adding the 1 meg Agnus and enabling the extra
512K of chip mem was the best thing I ever did. Now I have ram to spare!
Now I just need to replace the Trumpcard with with one that supports the
SCSI direct protocol so I can use my Fred Fish on CD, and CDROM-FS with my
cheap $225 refurbed Toshiba SCSI CD-ROM player. (Trumpcard 500 won't talk
to it.. insists on using 512 byte blocks while the CDROM uses 2048 and
won't pass on the scsi commands).
