QB upgrades
13 messages in this thread
Folks I have QB and QBT and notice from the new products in the magazines
that I do not have the latest versions. What do I need to send you to
upgrade?
Secondly – I have a wish for the next version of ProWrite. Would it be
possible to have options allowing you to start PW with a defined AREXX port
name? This would allow starting it for a macro without having to determine
what is running etc. (I frequently will use two or more copies of PW) Also
an option to start it with a defined port and hidden – with no screen. I
have used both these options with my favorite text editor and find it most
handy.
Thanks
Jay Dauro
Jay,
Quarterback is now at 4.3 and may be upgraded following this schedule.
> 4.0 to 4.3 No charge
>=2.0 <4.0 to 4.3 $10 includes new manual
>=1.0 <2.0 to 4.3 $25 includes new manual
Quarterback Tools is at 1.5 and all older versions may be upgraded at no
cost to the 1.5 version.
To receive either of these upgrades return your original disk with the
appropriate payment to:

Multiple versions of ProWrite may run local macros as long as you comment
out the address line at the top. I would be necessary to get a list of
processes if the macro is going to switch to the command line and back. I
will add your suggestions to our wish list for the next version.

Does QB 4.3 support Workbench 2.0?

My QB 4.2 works with Workbench 2.0. Although the look could and hopefully
is being improved to match the new look of 2.0. –Nature Boy
Just heard that you recently picked up Central Coast? Is this true? I have
a question about QB Tools, if it is.
Thanks,

Gary,
No not me. I've been thinking about buying it but know no more than the
advertising literature.

Quarterback 4.3 runs fine under Workbench 2.0.
As well, Quarterback Tools 1.5, Dos-2-Dos 3.5, and Mac-2-Dos 1.1d all work
under Workbench 2.0.

Mark,
does QuarterBack v4.2 run fine under Workbench 2.0 also?
If it doen't I need to upgrade right away. What is the upgrade policy
for Canada?

Kevin,
Quarterback v4.2 runs fine under the released versions of 2.0, however,
it does have a problem with releasing drive on exit under unreleased
versions
of 2.0. You will most likely want to upgrade.
To upgrade from 4.0 and above to 4.3 you can send your disk to:
Central Coast Software
P.O. Box 164287
Austin, TX 78716
and a note saying you would like an upgrade. There is no charge for this
upgrade.

Mark, I haven't received any update notices from CCS for Quarterback, I did
get the QBT 1.5 update via their BBS. If New Horizons is taking over
distribution, should I expect to receive update notices from NHS now? Where
do I send the a change of address notice?
