So what makes a talented, good looking and successful guy like you so insecure? Your work is as good as it gets around here but I have absolutely no desire or need to use you to promote me. Doug, when you turn on your PC in the morning the floppy drive light comes on just like it does on millions of PCs all over the world. That industry standard floppy doesn't hold much info when it comes to graphics. Now there is CD-ROM and we have the opportunity to distribute en-mass fantastic amounts of information. All I'm trying to do is fill up a CD with some graphics. My project is a compilation. Nothing more nothing less. I'm donating my time in lining up contributions, storing the data and going up to Wales for the day to press the CD. Of course all the demos I have ever produced will be on it. Rea at Animated Systems wants a directory, so does Steve at Enlighten. They know perfectly well that I have no intention of claiming their work to be my own. Anything that goes on the CD will have a credit to the creator in a README.DOC file. No work from GRAFX will be on this CD.

Think for a moment about the insecurity of someone who goes on-line publicly, insults someone, calls them names and calls them insecure. Insecurity has nothing to do with it Phil. I just don't need you doing my promotion for me, that's all. If Glauberman and Rae need the extra press, great! I would just rather have a handle on my own. You should probably know by now that I pass around far more information about what I do than anyone else in the industry. I publish a newsletter with information about what we do in it and I tell people how to do clever things in GRASP. I speak openly (except for NDA and trade secrets info of course) at gatherings. I don't think GRAFX's reputation depends on insecurity and secrecy. Geesh, Phil. This sounds like the old days when you were at BR and I was hyping GRASP! I think you are going to have great project and I wish you well. I just choose not to participate.

Maybe I was a little bit hot-headed. The reason that I wrote in the tone I did was based on my interpretation of your message. My recollection is that you accused me of trying to create a situation were I could claim other people's work as my own. I don't promote myself that way and took great offense at your suggestion that I did. I apologize for that crack about insecurity… it was out of line…

I'd like to send you some of my stuff. Probably can do within a week then it's up to the postman! Will that be sufficient time? I didn't read of a timeline.
