Keith, I am home now, and have the Western digital book in front of me. I quote from the WD1002-WX1 Winchester Disk Controller writeup: Controls up to two drives using Seagate Technology ST506 Supports drives of any configuration up to 1024 cylinders and 16 R/W heads. Compatible with WD1002S-WX2 The reason the Wedge people recommend the controllers they do is that they have been tested and work well. Others that have been tested are either too slow or they have not been figured out. There is a Western Digital RLL controller that will work well, but I can't remember the model number. If you are interested, please let me know. I'll try to find out for you which one it is. Regards, Larry.

Thanks Larry, I'll tell Jim that he can go ahead and get the WD controller. Keith
