#3d Objects
20 messages in this thread
Hi! I'm looking for graphic objects for use with VideoScape 3d or Sculpt
or any other 3d rendering program. Can anyone point me in the right
direction as to where I can find some objects? I've worked with Modeler
3d, and I don't know, just can't get the hang of it. I'd like to do some
animations, but I have very little objects to work with. There used to be a
helicopter, signs, a haunted house and all kinds of objects on here before
– even a Tie Fighter – but their all gone now, or I can't seem to find
them. Thanks.
There aren't all that many objects online anymore. Those that are here
would be, in all likelihood, in either the Animations library or the
Derived Art library, mostly combined with an animation or still image
showing the object. (Thats LIB 12 and 9, BTW…) The older objects may no
longer be here online, as we often remove files which have had no access
for several months.
Probably your best bet for finding such things is to browse on a keyword
of OBJECT as well as on keywords of SCULPT, VIDEOSCAPE, and other rendering
programs…

I'm not sure there ever were many 3D objects online. Good objects are rare.
I know a guy who sells quite perfect car objects for between $500-2000 a
pop. Good objects must often be customized for a particular modeling
program, for example, randomly oriented triangles from Sculpt or
Silver/Imagine are little good in a program like VideoScape that needs
polygons that face in a certain direction.
Hey JF – don't forget the old syndesis sculpt object disks and my 59 cent
royalty thereon 8(o) <thats a tongue sticking out> ! j h h l
Hey, if we sold any, we'd be sending you another whopper of a check. What
can I say? If nothing else, that experiment shows the foolishness of $20
object disks. For a company to do well at them, I think you need to hire a
genius 15 year old, someone who will turn out one great object a day, and
will gladly accept $10 for it.
How about a slightly Senile 27 year old who uploads them??? I'll be uling
some more in a bit.I'm currently testing a Revision of the Deltawing that I
uploaded with leg type landing gear/thrusters with plastic.att, and
Water.att and glass.att for the Hatch
Peter,
Looking forward to your massive 3D-object uploading activities!
Does your "att." mentions mean "attribute" files from Imagine?

Glad you are enjoying the Ulpoads of Objects Bro. Yes the ATT that I
mentioned are Attribute files for Imagine
Your program to move objects from one format to another was an early
purchase of mine. I'm sure you've been told before what a significant
contribution it has made to the Amiga modeling community. So thanks, right
well, there you are.
Also Rod, if you read this, I'm currently suffering from
modelers block and would be willing to build an object or two for you
so leave me some E-Mail if you want. Errr, I make pretty nice objects.
Never thought about selling them. These will be freebies, although Mr.
Foust's got me thinking.

Howdy John, any news on the Interchange Module for Imagine yet? Thanx
bro.BTW if ye didn't notice I been ULING objects lately, The next post(once
I finish the object that is) will be of a
Robotech like Fighter in Battloid Mode(a Robot looking geezer) with arms
legs and laser Cannon etc…
Rod, there doesn't seem to be to many objects on CIS now.
If you don't mind a long distance call there is a BBS in Texas that
specializes in 3D programs. It is called the Studio Amiga and the number
is (817) 467 3658. Because it is (real) long distance for me, I usually
try to log on after midnight when the toll rates are the lowest. At this
time of night it costs me less per minute than CIS. I have gotten some
very good Imagine objects from this BBS. There are different sections for
each of the major 3D programs.

Bro there are a few here I uploaed. Also if you own Interchange and the
CAD 3D module ya can go to the Atari Arts area and get objects.for
instance there is a complete Chess set there 170k Compressed file
Kevin,
I share your distaste of long-distance phone-calls and desire for 3D
objects. <grin>
Can you give me some idea how many objects this board has, expecially
for Imagine?
Thanks,
Karl

Karl,
actually I like other people using long-distance since I work for a
phone company. 8^) I just recieved my phone bill last week and the cost is
less than I pay per connect minute for CI$, if I use it LATE at night.
The BBS has about 90 TSilver/Imagine objects last time I checked. If
you have Interchange (I don't yet) there would be even more in the other
sections to use.

Hi – I got here late – which BBS, please? Thanks Bill
Bill,
the BBS is called Studio Amiga. It's located in Texas, the number is
(817) 467-3658.
The BBS has sections for all the major Amiga 3D and animation packages.

Which kind are you wanting? That BBS is a local call for me.
Betty
Betty,
I use Imagine, but it's not a big deal for me to call Studio Amiga. It
costs me about the same as I would spend for CIS.
Thanks for the offer though.

Thanks very much (ain't this neat – I've been doing this for years but am
still occasionally blown away – In California, someone in Edmonton gives me
information on a bulletin board in Texas!)
Well Bro I been uploading objects I create here of late, but I been
Uploading them in Turbo Silver/Imagine Format If you have Syndesis
Interchange you can convertem from the Turbo Silver format to the Sculpt
format QUITE easily. Also if you are interested in BUYING objects let me
know and I'll Email ya a list of Ready made objects I have for sale,or if
nothing suits you from the Ready mades I can custom Design something.BTW
