Hello out there in Amiga Land, I am currently looking to purchase a used Amiga 2000 to upgrade from my Amiga 500. If you are such a person or know someone who is please leave me a message on this forum or send to user 71161,1565. I your reply please answer the following questions: a) How old is your A2000? b) What rev is your motherboard? c) What hardware is installed within your system? d) Why are you selling your 2000? e) Has your 2000 had any repairs or upgrades? f) How much are you asking? Please keep in mind you can buy a new 2000 for about $1,100.00, be fair. [C Thanks…. Shawn Randolph (Manassas, Virginia)

Hey Shawn I am selling my 2000. It comes with 5 meg ( including the Angus Chip) 80meg hard drive and Color montor. It is only a year and a half old. I just changed over systems and didn't need it anymore. It will come with Excellences 2.0 and games. Also a Pascel compeler. I was asking 2500.00 or best offer. So make me an offer Thanks!!

Thanks for your offer but I am basically looking to purchase the CPU or you 2000 proper (also any of its internals). The main reason being that I am upgradeing from my 500. However, I will mention your offer to friends in my office who are interested in purchaseing new machines. It sounds as if your machine is not to far off that mark. In the event that they are interested or I reconsider I will keep your message, but I appreciate your quick response. Shawn

Good luck on your upgrade! If you look hard enough you'll find a good bargain. I had been looking for over a year for my used 2000. Problem is that most everyone around here bought theirs at the two local dealers who charged full list or better. So a used revision 6.2 A2000 average asking price is about $1,300. I had one guy who wanted to trade for one of our PC clones. No problem, I'd been looking for that kind of trade. I offered him $1,200 worth of tradein on his A2000 with 1 meg, two floppies, XT Bridgeboard with two floppies. No monitor. The deal fell through as he wanted a straight trade for one of our 33 Mhz '386/VGA systems (w 4meg ram, 85 meg 18ms access hd, 1 meg vga card and multisync monitor, current price is about $2000.) Then one day a user wandered onto my bbs and posted an ad selling his, and the next night I was the proud owner of a 6.2 A2000, GVP ComboCard (030/33) with 1 meg chip/4 meg 32 bit, scsi controller, 80 meg Seagate (ugghh) hd, AmigaVision, AmigaDos 1.3.3, a CBM 1950 multisync monitor, etc. all for $2,500! And it's all less than 3 months old!

Yes indeed it is difficult, I have received several good responses from the members of Compuserve but unfortunatly I have not found exactly what I am looking for. I am mainly interested in the 2000 and its internal upgrades since I already posses most of the other periferals (ie: Monitor, Printer). I would like to find a "newer" CPU like you have found but I have come to realize either individuals are selling their systems as a whole, which makes perfect sense, or they have CPU's older than 2 years. My 500 has suited me fine but it lacks a certain flair when it comes to true expansion, and vain hopes of actually owning a "toaster." If you hear any news keep me informed, and for those who sent me mail and are reading this note, don't give up yet I have to see whats available and match it to my plans as well as budget….. Thanks all……. Shawn
