Thanks for the reply. Do they advertise in Computer Shopper? I was
also thinking about combining a 386 board with the XT BB and also perhaps
getting a separate hard drive such as a hardcard someday. Getting a VGA
adapter and monitor would also be nice. Does the 386i board have its own
onboard RAM like the PC Elevator? Has anyone put Dr DOS 5.0 or MSDOS 5.0 on
it? I read on the GEnie Starship that someone had upgraded to MSDOS 5.0 on
an XT BB.

Yes, I've seen it advertised in several mail order houses, the other
questions are all good question, but I don't know the answers.
The Sota 386i has a 16K cache expandable to 64K, the optional memory board
doesn't work in the BB environment (upto 4Megs), Ron Gross has run 5.0 on
it I believe I haven't tried yet, if you are interested in a BB XT/386i set
up with VGA check out my message in classifieds.

It's section 17 of the mail (This is section 12). when you get on amiga
user hit 2, then hit 3 to change age seletion to "ALL" (3 I think) , then
choose select base choice 1 from the menu then choose 17.

Thanks for the reply. I already have the A2088 XT bridgeboard
running on an Amiga 2000HD with 3 meg. The guy who sold it to me is going
to give me a V20 chip for it. The most immediate thing I'm going to do is
probably upgrade to one of the DOS 5's and try to get one of those 386
accelerators to make the software worthwhile. I shouldn't be in any hurry
though.

MS-DOS 5.0 on an XT Bridgeboard seems to have no problems (at least that
I've seen so far). Things like the DOS Shell are nicer than using all
those dir commands.
You'd better recount your wishes for the XT Bridge add-ons. A 386 board, a
VGA board, a hardcard, a ram card, and the XTBB add up to 5 slots. Your
one over (unless you've got something up your sleeve).

I guess I was counting the pennies to compose the message online rather

While I don't have anything up my sleeve other than my arm, a
multi-function card might solve my problem. Additionally, or
alternatively, I could simply stay with using a file on my Amiga side as
the hard drive like I'm doing now. I set aside a few meg on my Amiga
2000HD for the bridgeboard. Getting a cartridge SCSI add-on like the GVP
Rico or a Syquest for the Amiga might be a better choice.
Oh well, just dreaming and wishes are cheap
unless you lose sleep.
Have you seen or used DR DOS 5.0 on the bridgeboard?

A hard disk on the PC side would get better response than a partition on
the Amiga side (judging by the reponse I get from my Amiga side partition).
Also, I haven't had much luck setting up more than one Amiga side virtual
disk file for the XT-BB (good thing the C partition is 30 meg).
I've heard of DR DOS 5.0, but I haven't seen or used it in relation to the
Bridgeboard.
