Many people are asking what the status is on the v1.01 update for SB4, so we'd like to fill you in. As Tim Arnot has said, that version is shipping in UK, as indeed it is in the US. There were, however, approximately 2000 copies of v1.00 shipped initially, which will need to be updated. If you received your copy of SB4 as an upgrade from SBPro v3.0, you already have the updated version. If you have SB4 v1.00, you will be receiving the updated v1.01 in the next couple of weeks. It will ship automatically at no charge. The update had not been shipped previously only due to our recent merger with Software Publishing Corporation (SPC), and the attendant attentions to other matters having distracted us from this. It is now in manufacture, however, and should be reaching REGISTERED SB4 owners during the next couple of weeks. If you have not returned your registration card to us, however, it will NOT be arriving anytime soon or otherwise. I hope this clears things up. –Duke Lane Precision Software/SPC

Duke, If I understand you correctly, I did upgrade from SBPro v3.0 but my Sbpro v4.0 states just that 4.0, not 4.01. What are the enhancements for 4.01? Is it just a bug fix or are there other features/enhancements? I am not one of those who have to have the very latest version if what I have is functional as the only problem I am having with 4.0 is the text dissapearing on pushbuttons after quriies or reports. But if there are more features…..gimme gimee gimee <grin> …Steve Whap!ping from beautiful coastal South Carolina

The new release is merely a fix of some problems we found too late (oops). It will be shipped free of charge to all registered owners. No new features as far as I'm aware. –Duke

Duke – Hate to bug you but … I also got SB4 from Precision as an upgrade from SBPro3. Everything I can find indicates that it is Version 1.0. Is there some way to tell (so fools like me won't be continually asking)? From the distribution disk it lists as follows: sbpro4 528396 —-rwed 17-Apr-91 13:45:42 Thanks. REC ——

Run Superbase Pro 4. Go to the Project menu and choose About. It tells you the version number and revision date. Darin – via Whap!

Darin – Now why didn't I think of that … sigh! (Version 1.0 11 Apr 91). Of course, the same message displays every time Superbase Pro 4 is started. Guess, I just wasn't convinced that those displays were going to be updated in this case. Thanks for your help. REC ——

Strange, I got my upgrade to SB4 rather late, and I still got 1.0.

Duke – > If you received your copy of SB4 as an upgrade from SBPro v3.0, you > already have the updated version. Like several other commenters, I received SB4 as an upgrade from SB3, but even looking through the file with NewZap, it seems to say that it's version 1.0 . Do I just wait and see if 1.01 comes in the mail? Wait how long? . . . . . JimDoc

> Do I just wait and see if 1.01 comes in the mail? Yup. Shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks from what I heard last. Will double-check and let you know if otherwise. –Duke
