#ImPC 2.9: 256-TGA prob

Can anybody help please? I am using Imagine 2.9 on a PC rendering a complex scene and producing 1024*768, 256-TGA frames using Trace. Each frame looks fine in the Imagine Project Editor. However, I need them elsewhere and when I take them into Alchemy or Corel Draw 4 it appears that the Red and Blue are interchanged. 24 bit TIFF and TGA are fine so is 256 TIFF but I'm trying to save time and disk space. I've got a 'work around' but it's going to take 24 hours on a 486/66! Am I doing something wrong? (Prefs are set at default values), I havn't tried it in IM2.0PC or IM on the Amiga. Tony

Daniel,. That is the million dollar question, and I have no real answer except to say with in the next 60 days, I think, dont quote me on that, The delay has to do with things that are hard to do and more difficult to make easy to use., I dont want to just stuff things in the code and make it impossible to use. Hi Tony, I have the PC version, too. I have the same problems as you described when creating 256 color .TGA files. Only Imagine shows them correct. The only work around that might work for you is to render the pics in 24bit and convert them with Pait Shop Pro to 8bit. On my 486-66 it took 20 seconds to do that for a 1024×768 image. PSP is available in Graphsupport Forum. -David

David Hi again; I actually needed to end up with about 300 frames of 256-TGA for a client so I went 256-Tiff , Gif, prepare animation, then 256-Tiff to TGa etc and into Corel D4 for titles etc to deliver full package. I'm presenting it on Wednesday morning. Did you see Mike's reply? problem should be fixed with ImPC 3.0. Tony

Tony, good luck with your anim on Wednesday. Yes, Mike said it'll be fixed. I never needed 256 color pics so far, and I don't think I will. -David
