Someone was trying to sell some CD Rom drives here on the forum.
Unfortunatelly, I lost his CIS address.
Does someone have that info for me?

What is the data-transfer rate of the drive? Is it a comparable drive to
the nec units I keep seeing ads for? (pc week/infoworld). can i use it for
cdtv?

The Toshiba XM-3201B drive is a CADDY based system with trnasfer rates in
the neighborhood of 350 msec… I was surprised to find that using either
the XETEC or ASIMCDFS s/w the drive reads data just as if it were a
(relatively) slow hard disk drive.
Both of the s/w packages mentioned above support some CDTV stuff.
Yes, the drive is comparable to many of the NEC drives you see
advertised… drives seem to range in speed from around 280 msec to 600
msec, with the caddy type systems offering higher data transafer rate
speeds. Check out John Foust's articles in the March and August
AmigaWorld's.
