#040 crashes CanDo

Actually, the rule that we broke did not exist when the 68000/68020 chips
were out. We create and copy a jump table and then start to use it right
away in memory. We have to execute a special instruction to clear the
cache, which has now been integrated into the latest test software.
Um…..I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this question:-). I
havn't been reading all Innovatronics messages since I havn't been using my
CanDo and havn't had problems with OPUS; untill lately that is. So if I'm
in the wrong spot, just give me a shove:-).
Anyway, this is probably real simple. Why do most of my IFF files now
keep showing up as half a file with a dbl.click? I only get the left half
of the file and it's on the right side of my screen. The only way I can
view them is by do a right-button click on show, which I have set up as a
ppshow button for PowerPacked files. Everything was fine, even after I set
up that button. What happened? Any ideas how to change it?

This is certainly the right place for this question, Skip. Please tell me
which version of DOpus you are running. The latest released version is
3.41. I used to have similar problems with the 3.22 version, but not since.
Anything special about the pictures you are showing now?

My version of OPUS is indeed V3.22 but whats doesn't make sense is that
I had no problems previously, which is why I never upgraded. Also, the
messages here indicated that some people where having problems with the
upgrades so I figured that since I was very happy with what I had, why
bother?
Anyway, the pics were all standard low-res/hi-res/ham iff's. I DID have
a few PowerPacked files and then packed a few of my own but then even
unpacked files started showing only half a screen.
The problem now is that ALL my iff's are gone……They were on my
Syquest, which crashed last week:-(. It actually squeals and grinds…..So
I have to send it down there for `failure analysis'. (no, I didn't back
that one up:-(. everyone may now line up to take their kicks<g>)
Hmmmm…..I just `un-lharc'ed' a few pics a happened to have and now
they seem OK. Now I'm confused.(nothing new). I don't THINK I PowerPacked
anything but a few files and would have known whichs ones I packed. Not to
mention they all had the .pp extension.
I'll get back to you….sorry.

by the way, the problems people were having with the Opus upgrade was to
version 3.40, not 3.41. 3.41 is, in my humble opinion, well worth the
$7.50 charged for it!

I just D/L'd a file from another service and it did the same thing. I
only un-arc'ed it. It was a HAM file and according to the header in the
file was processed with the Art Dept. and had a line in it saying
IFF3.0.1…..
So maybe I'll just call for the upgrade. I still don't understand why it
started this after not giving me trouble all this time. Unless the files
have been changing lately.
