#Grid Square program
8 messages in this thread
Does anybody still have a copy of the Maidenhead Grid Square program that
used to be up here? Can't find it in here any more. I must have lost my
copy of the program last winter when I lost my HD.
If you still have a copy of the executeable program, please upload it.

Oh, you mean the one I wrote? I'll upload it.

Yes, that would be the one, Paul. Thanks! Had to figure out the grid
square manually – EN68tr. About 8 miles from where I previously thought I
was! That is what happens when I try to get my lat/long from a provincial
road map. Using a government 1000 meter map – can determine where I am to a
few seconds now.
Hey, your on AO-10 and 13, aren't you? Want to try a sched some time?
Maybe try some SSTV up there?

I doubt I could have any kind of reasonable succes with SSTV on AO-13. The
sigs are rarely strong enough for even SSB work.
The program is GRID and it is on the Software/Pictures DL of the HAMNET
SIG.

Thanks, Paul. I'll grab the program on friday.
Actually, I have never made a mode B contact yet. The signals sounded
pretty good on sunday, but I was busy organizing the shack so stuck to
listening. Have a grand total of 4 contacts on mode J. Will have to get
some more contacts in the log book very soon.
Will have to check what the satellite passes will be like for the weekend.
Should be Mode-B only until the 17th (monday).
Haven't even heard an SSTV signal on the bird yet, just noticing all the
talk about it in the Amsat Bulletins. I have only had the station
reconnected for two weeks now, and wouldn't you know it, but as soon as it
was ready to go, AO-13 was in eclipse and doing magnetorquing!!

Paul,
Have you ever seen Keps for the Sun or Moon? The sun would make a good
noise source for checking aiming accuracy and checking how well the
antennas perform (KLM 22C and 40CX).

Instant Track automatically does the sun and moon. No need for keps.

I'll get Instant Track when it gets ported to the Amiga!!
My AT-BB is mostly stock – no VGA board.
