Rich, Curiouser and curiouser. The font is indeed made by Fontographer. When I put it in my directory both with and without the .pfb extension (i.e. 2 copies with different names) and run the following commands: /LSCScript findfont 12 scalefont setfont 108 396 moveto (ABCD abcd) show I get invalidfont. When I issue the same commands with LSCScript.pfb as the font name, Post executes correctly, but gives me the default font (which I've set as Times-Roman). This is what Post is supposed to do if it can't find the font, so I guess it is operating correctly. Oh, by the way, I uploaded the zip'd file. Hopefully it arrived safely. I may be off the air for about 2 weeks because of some unusual busy-ness in my life. If you or anyone else can crack the problem, I'd love to hear the answer. The background to all this is that I would like to build a collection of fonts for use in presentations that I make at work. I would particularly like to have a handwriting font, which LSCScript is. So far, I've been unable to use any font created by Fontographer, and unfortunately it seems that all fonts uploaded in the last 3-6 months have been created using that tool. John

John, I'll take a look at the font and try to see what the problem is. If we miss connections, send me a message when you get back. Have a good trip. Rich

John, Whoops. You did not say that you were gonig on a trip. Oh, well. Take care of busy-ness any way. BTW Fontographer is the _only_ program available for creating Type 1 fonts on a machine accessible to mere mortals like us. It would dearly like to have a program on the Amiga like Fontographer. It is one of the most polished programs in the business. Rich

Rich, If Fontographer is so good, maybe we could get a bunch of us to petition the vendor for a port to the Amiga. Who makes it? Good luck with the font. Signing off for now. John

John, Fontographer is made by Altsys. Altsys is apparently also known as or associated with Aldus which makes Pagemaker and Freehend for MAC and MS DOS. I have asked them repeatedly about plans for developing for the Amiga. They have been polite, but openly negative about anything even remotely associated with Amiga or CBM. Rich

Did you happen to forget about FontStudio? Matt

Mathew, What is Font Studio? I'm not aware of anything even closely approaching the capabilities of Fontographer. Does Font Studio make Type 1 PostScript fonts or fonts that are used for video purposes? Rich

Rich, FontStudio is a Mac application that produces type1 fonts and I think it will also create type3 and TrueType also. I don't believe that they have a C= version. Matt
