#SupraFAX Dialing Blind..
7 messages in this thread
Is there a bug in the SupraFAX v.32bis control program that doesn't let
it recognize that a phone line is in use? I've used every combination of
Xx commands, but it always dials – even when the line is already being
used.
I know X4 is supposed to do this, but is there some other setting I have
to change in order to get it to work properly?
My dial string is as follows:
ATS7=90S95=2Q0W2X4B1N1DP
(And it STILL blind-dials. ^_^)

I just got a new SupraFax for testing with our own 14.4 and have had no
problems. I use NCOMM and consistantly get 1600-1800 CPS when connected to
other 14.4's. I also get 3000+ CPS with text files… I have no problems
with dialing, hanging up, or whatever.. I do however, have a new set of
ROMS. Perhaps the problems that people have been experiencing is due to
the old ROMS??? Just a thought..

Hmm… I never thought of that. It's possible. (^_^)
My ROM version (AT I3 to check it out) is 1.200 C. I don't know if
that's the latest or not.

What version of NComm are you using? And what is your init string? I'm
using my new Supra with CIS OK, but not local boards doing ZModem DL's.
Have you done "Z" OK?

Have you tried taking the modem to another phone line? There were some
cases where the modem had trouble finding dial tone. This was happening in
certain areas and on certain PBX systems. We have made some modifications
to the upgraded ROMs that should cure these problems.

That's not easy for me to do, since my house only has one. (^_^)

In that case, I eagerly await the upgrade – I can co-ordinate with my
family to make certain the phone isn't being used when I try to call out.
