Has anyone tried to set up a MS DOS partition on their Hard Drive for use
with CROSS-PC? I have tried and tried and keep getting an DOSTYPE NOT
MS-DOS. I have tried FDISK and it won't even recognize it at all. Anyone
have the correct DosType for this problem????

I just got it today, so I haven't tried it yet. But there's some notes in
the manual "tech notes" on using DosType 0x4e534800 (a tooltype in the
icon).

I got it up and running. I was naming the partition PCC which was also
trying to be a MSdos name. You have to name the partition something else
when you set it up. MS-DOS FDISK will take it after that as well as the
install HD option on the install side. Oh yea, in talking to Constron, the
Tech said that the DosType with the "E" in it is a misprint. You must use
the one with the "D"!
Works great as far as I can tell. Mouse is a little flakey.

That doesn't work, I found. I think it may be a typo, but the E
should be a D. When I tried the dostype with the E, I got an error
message, but everything worked when I changed to D. The D can be found in
a later reference in the manual.

Sounds like you didn't run the HD config program (accessible via the
Install script). If you do so and select a partition it should be ready to
be FDISK'ed the next time you enter CrossPC.

Thank you for the information on the CrossPC program installition. It
seems that you can't name the Partition the same as the CrossPC trys to
name the IBM part. Name the partition anything but PCC and all will work
fine. Just remember to purchase DOS at the same time as you purchase the
program CROSS-PC.
