Hi all, Has anybody any experience with Wangtek tape drives? I've seen some of their models for sale pretty cheap and was wondering if they would work with a GVP scsi controller. The model that I think would work is a 5125ES. I already have the Ami-Back software that is supposed to support tape drives. Has anybody had luck using these drives with an Amiga? Thanks!

Paul, I use a Wangtek 5150ES that I purchased directly from GVP, I used a Series I and now a Series II controller with it. No problem, works fine, I can't see why the 5125ES wouldn't work. Is that the 250MB version? I also use AmiBack with it. Works like a charm, I've got an older set of ROMS in the controller, they are version 3.12s/3.2a, that or higher should work fine for you. Chris

Thanks for the quick reply Chris! I've seen refurbished drives like this going for about $300. I'm not sure of the size but its got to better then floppies! Thanks again. …….. Paul McCarthy – Whapping! – from New York City!

Paul, Yes, I'm using a WangTek E5150ES tape drive with Quarterback 5.02 and it works great. WangTeks are good drives. Dom Fontana
