The ILBM.LHA file has been dloaded 16 times, and the archive is fine at
this end, so I suspect that you got a bad download. Try again.

NOT SO Michael
I just downloaded the ILBM.LHA file and it transferred ok. but when an
attempt is made to extract using LHA 1.22 I get a 0 bytes extracted
message. The archive tests OK. but has nothing in it ???
Are you sure the archive is OK. or are you using a newer version of LHA
that us folks with older version cant understand. ??

John:
The latest version of LHA is LHA132.RUN in AmigaUser library 16.

Thanks for the info on the new LHA version, I will download it and check
out the new driver.

Michael:
I have downloaded the ILBM.LHA file twice now and I still can't extract the
driver. I am using the new version of LHA (1.32).
I get the same results with the Test, Look & Extract functions, the file is
OK, but it is empty. LHA T ILBM.LHA or LHA X ILBM.LHA or LHA L
ILBM.LHA all say there are 0 bytes in the file.
I am downloading the file using Whap 1.9H, and have downloaded hundreds of
Megs of files in the past without this kind of problem.
Can you check the file. I saw in a previous note that you had said that
many people had downloaded the file. (this does not necessarily mean that
they have extracted the file OK).
Thanks

John:
First, try using LHA x <filename>.lha NOT LHA X <filename>
(I think that the switch is case sensitive)
Unfortunately, I can't test it until Wednesday, as I am out of town (and
away from my Amiga). But I'm sure you can talk one of the sysops in to
checking it out.

John,
I downloaded the file ILBM.LHA, and had exactly the same problems you
described. Apparently something has corrupted our file, and we will need
to get another copy. Thank you for calling this to our attention, and I'm
terribly sorry you had problems with it. We will remove it immediately.

Betty:
Thanks for testing the file out and verifying it BAD, I have downloaded
hundreds of MegaBytes of data from Compuserve in the 5 or 6 years I have
been a user, and was starting to get a little miffed at the basic
assumption that I did not know what I was doing. RE. pointing out a corrupt
file. (OTOH I suppose there are a lot of beginner problems you must see.)
I use LHA and other archivers in other environments PEECEE, Ultrix,VMS
etc. and was surprised to see this particular file test OK but have nothing
in it. (weird) Usually a corrupt file has bad header info or other errors.
Thanks for taking the trouble.

When I did a test on the file, it said, "no files to test." Yet it
reported no errors, as you say. Strange.
I will upload another version today.

Please don't get upset because we try to point out the obvious… as you
said, there ARE many beginner's here, and some of the most frequent
questions posted have to do with the archiving and uncrunching of library
files…. and when someone posts a message like you did, it makes perfect
sense to give the response that was given, and _then_ for a sysop to check
the file (as Betty did). The only intent was to help you as quickly as
possible. No offense was intended (as I'm sure you know!).
