I understand that a better video printer would get me a better print but I
would need an actual photo or slide for my needs. I have a thermal printer
whic which gets good results. I'm using ToasterPaint as a Poor Man's (haha)
version of a Scitex graphics editor, but I just can't do the final phase: a
photoprint. Does Amiga do video slide presentations that I could convert
Toasterpaint gr graphics to whatever format to get a pic out of it?

Then take a look at the Polaroid Ci-3000,Ci-5000 or the Freezeframe the

a Polaroid instapick filmback

I would guess there are many companies which would take a PICT (Mac) format
picture and print it out for you. It is possible to convert your TPaint RGB
files to PICT format, but they would still need to be on a Mac format disk
(I personally recommend tha AMAXII+ card – it's great!).
There are also several graphics houses that specialize in Toaster and
multi-platform services.

I am fairly certain you could send them a Syquest cartridge or some
floppies and they could print it out for you.
Don't know about prices though. And guessing by your name, you are probably
somewhat distant from the 'Bay Area'. Maybe they could give you some leads
though.
If you are considering purchasing a printer, look at the RasterOps
CorrectPrint 300. It's a beautiful 300DPI dye-sublimation printer for
$8-10K ($3 per 8×10 inch print media cost).
