#3DS for Half Price???

The August 1992 issue of Computer Graphics World has a rather interesting
ad. This is the deal : buy or upgrade to AutoCAD V12 and get #D Studio for
"half price". In this case, the upgrade is $500, and 3DS is $1500. Is this
for real? The company is Vortec International, in San Francisco. Any info
would be appreciated. (oh, the ad is on page 99).

There's actually a 60-day promotion that the Adesk MM division is running
(8/1-10/1) for people upgrading to (or buying) AutoCAD R12. It's a very
limited-time thing, and in many ways it's a kind thing to do for all the
Acad folks who spent $1000 for Ashade and Renderman and could never get it
to do what they wanted.

to AutoCAD Release 12) is a limited-time offer, and available through any
Autodesk Multimedia Reseller (not just the dealer you've mentioned). We
all got coupons to complete the transaction – come git 'em!
