Dom, Your help for Vicki has not gone unnoticed, nor is it unappreciated. I know that you have tried, as have we all, to help her get going, and Vicki is making great progress. Any time several people try to help someone, the advice will sometimes be a bit confusing, but an intelligent person such as Vicki will sort it all out, and often the very fact that something IS said differently will make things work out better in the long run. It is true, Dom, that I am not perfect. Sometimes I leave off things that might have been added. However, the things I have said were true, even if not complete. Now, Dom, please think over your message and tell me – is it not just a tad out of line for you to be taking a sysop to task for trying to help a user? I think so. I also think it is out of place for any of us to be discussing Vicki as a third party. Each of us needs to give our help to VICKI, and stop * discussing* Vicki in messages to each other. No one likes to be discussed in this way. Would you?

Betty, Hi. I was hoping you didn't take my message the wrong way, but I guess you did. I certainly wasn't taking you to task and I'm sorry you took it that way. You've helped Vicki tremendously. I replied to you about Vicki because your message was handy at the time. I wasn't criticizing you. I was just offering suggestions as to how you could better help Vicki. I spoke to her on the phone and I honestly thought your advice to her might actually create more problems than it solved. I didn't mean it in a bad way. I actually think it would be better to give Vicki no advice at all, rather than give her incomplete advice. The way I see it if you give her advice, she will follow it verbatim. So if something is left out in the advice, it won't work for her. I really don't see anything wrong in occasionally discussing Vicki in messages to each other. It's not like we're saying derogatory things about her behind her back. My messages weren't about Vicki, per se, but about advice that all of us were giving Vicki. My messages were for Vicki's benefit. But you are right that we should mostly direct our messages to Vicki directly. I'm sorry you misinterpreted my messages. They weren't meant that way. I do appreciate all the help you offer to everyone and I think you do a great job as SysOp here. I wasn't trying to embarass you or show you up. I hope you understand. Bye. Dom Fontana

As for as I'm concerned, NO ONE could show Betty up — she's the best. -sja
