#AniPro Targa+ 32-X200
6 messages in this thread
I'm rendering 320X200 animations in 3D Studio and Ani Pro. I would LIKE to
use the TARGA+ driver for Ani Pro to play these flics on my Targa+64 and
take them to tape.
However, when I load the targa driver for Anipro, IT defaults to 512X486,
and when I load the 320X200 flic, it of course is just in the middle of the
screen.
Any suggestions on how to do this?
Well, Kevin Krell can tell you if you can switch the Targa driver around to
different resolutions. I don't have one, so I don't have any experience
with them. I think you could resize the flic to view it full screen, but
this is time consuming and wouldn't serve your purposes of going to tape
with the most efficient pixel count available (my presumption…).
If someone writes a driver for the Targa that you can use you could
probably set the resolution with its configuration program… I don't know
if Panacea makes one…
C#
The resolution you last run TMODE (or TCONFIG) in is what the Targa+ driver
defaults to. Thus, you might choose a 640×480 mode (there is no 320×200 on
the Targa+). I think resizing the flic will be necessary to go full-screen
– even hardware zoom (if it can be activated while in Animator Pro) will
still not quite fit.

ok, thanks for the tips. I'll probably use Ani Pro to resize the flics.
Since the Targa+ driver takes the resolution from the current Targa mode
you can't get 320×200 in AniPro (Remember that the minimun resolution on
the Targa boards is 512×400 for NTSC versions -your case if you have a 64
modeland 512×476 for PAL versions, like my Targa+ 32).

I've been looking in the Targa documentation about recording 320×200 VGA
output to tape via overlay (probably this could be a solution to render
your 320×200 flics). However, this is imposible (again). I've found the
answer in the January 1991 Targa+ Reference Guide (Appendix D, Common
Questions, Page D-6).
