#missing font

Help! I downloaded the animation files AMY1 – AMY4, but when I put them together it tells me it can't find the "times font". The archive in AMY1 has a fonts directory and under that is a times directory, but that directory is empty. Where can I find this times font or am I just somehow extracting the files incorrectly? Randy

Randy, The times font is on the Fonts disk which comes with Workbench 2.04. In the AMY1 archive there are two read-me files one of which explains which files are missing from the archive and the reason why. Paul D. – – via AutoPilot

Paul Thanks for the info. Since I'm running 1.3 it sounds like I'm out of luck. It would be nice if something about requiring 2.04 was mentioned in the description so other people don't make the same mistake. Randy

Randy, Yeah, I probably should have mentioned it in the description but I wasn't aware that the times font was 2.0 only at the time I wrote it, and also I ran out of room. I think I may have a workaround for this but I want to check it out first to see if it will work. Paul D. – – via AutoPilot

Randy, If you still have the animation and want to view it you can use the font editor that comes with Workbench 1.3 to either create your own times.font or resave an existing font as the times font. The animation won't know the difference. The sizes you need are 11,13,15,18, and 24. If your not sure how to do this I can walk you through it. By the way, In case I gave you the wrong impression, I'm not a sysop just the person who uploaded the animation to CIS. Paul D. – – via AutoPilot

Paul I still have the files. I wasn't about to throw them away after all that time downloading. I never knew the fonts existed on the Extras disk. You learn something new every day. I'm going to have to spend some time going through that disk to see what else is on there I either never noticed or had forgotten about. Thanks for all the help. Randy

I THINK there is a Times font on the 1.3 Extras disk as well as the 2.0 Fonts disk. Wayne

It's amazing the things you can lose on a computer! I havent used 1.3 in so long, I'm amazed that I remembered the times.font! I couldn't tell you what else is on a 1.3 Extras disk. 🙂 Wayne
