#COREL THREE SWAPORSALE

Interested in trading or selling version 3.0A of Corel CD. It installs to
disk from the CD which beats heck out installing disk after disk. While it
won't RUN from CD, you get to acess all 14,000 pieces of excellent clipart
from disc. Prefered trade: Toolbook 1.5 on disk.
all reasonable offers appreciated. Thanks, Mark
Mark,
I can't help jumping in here. Corel 3.0A is being replaced by Corel with
3.0B because of multiple bugs in the rev A version – Corel will supply any
registered user with the rev B CD-ROM at no charge. IMHO the rev A version
is nearly unusable – will not run from the CD-ROM so you must install to
your hard disk and that can take as much as 23 MB! Even after installing,
some menu functions will not work at all, or will work poorly, depending on
your hardware – in my case, any effort to use the vital Effects menu caused
an instant system crash.
If you have not upgraded your 3.0A to the 3.0B you should certainly do so
before doing a trade/sale; if you are trying to pass on the buggy 3.0A
after getting your free 3.0B upgrade ….
Ric
well, is it upgraded…or would I be getting a buggy cd?
I used it for two weeks, it installs to hard drive, I used the mosaic for
the clipart on the Cd and installed Coreldraw and Photo-paint to disk. It
installed over 200 new Truetype fonts for use by all my windows products,
(I use Ami Pro mostly). I used Photo Paint to convert and re-contrast 20
pcx images for output as slides for a presentation. I had no problems with
Corel Draw or the photo part. I tried out the Show portion, but I don't
give desktop presentions from my machine. The upgrade includes an improved
show by Autodesk. Both CDs allow installation to disk. I run Corel draw
from disk and the other functions from The CD.
Check onto the Corel forum for further info. The people on there had
discussed problems installing the package on some machines. (I have a
three year old Magnavox 386sx, No problem with either version or
installation) The Cd install was much quicker than the disk install as all
you need to do is set options and let the CD run. If you want to buy the
package you can get it for about 365 dollars retail by mail from several
sources. I am not trading the upgrade for a fifty dollar CD or some such
as I hope you can imagine. Thanks for the time. I am beginning to regret
the whole affair.
Ric, yes this is the 3a, if you read my message you will note I said you
CANNOT run it from the disc but the advantage is you can access all the
14,000 pieces of clipart from CD. The implication of your message is not
appreciated, to quote Richard Millhouse… I am not a crook. "thanks " for
your input.
It will run from the CD !!!!
thanks, lance, sorry if I got in a lather! last thing I expected was a
tele-brawl. later,Mark
